Many actors have embraced self-tapes but are missing the interaction with, and enhancement of their work by, casting directors. To address this missing opportunity, TDC is very excited to be presenting The Casting Director Workshop with special guest Emmy Award multi-nominated casting director Candice Elzinga!
Through one-on-one coaching with Catherine and direct feedback from Candice, students in this workshop will develop their ability to:
Prepare clear and specific choices for their auditions
Utilize casting director feedback to adjust performance
Be confident in bringing themselves and their unique qualities into their work
And more!
Concepts explored in this workshop include:
The differences between prepping a self-tape vs prepping for a live audition
Understanding the subtle hints you can find in audition scripts/breakdowns
Learning how to create an original take on a character while still honouring the audition breakdown
With over 20 years of experience and over 300 credits in casting, Candice has worked on projects such as "Chesapeake Shores", "The Man in the High Castle" and "When Calls the Heart" to name a few!
